I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t dedicate enough time to just being with myself and loving myself as I should. With the responsibilities of motherhood, being a wife, a business owner, and keeping house, there is little time left for me to spread my wings and be just me. I know how important self-care is but the struggle is real to just catch a few moments to love on myself as I should.
As women, we are very powerful in our abilities to shape our families and care for all of those around us. We give 1000% of ourselves to everything and everyone, often times leaving us feeling run down or at the very worst, burnt out. Today, I vow that we stop the madness and take charge of loving ourselves, caring for ourselves, and giving 1000% to our self-care!
A few days ago I had to have a serious conversation with myself. You know the kind where you’re standing in the mirror talking to yourself. Y’all do know it right? I’m not the only one who talks to myself, am I? So yeah, I was talking to myself and noticed that I had bags under my eyes, my complexion was a bit dull, and my hair needed to be done, badly. It was in that moment that I realized my life had become consumed with caring for everyone else and I had no time left for myself. I made a promise to myself right then that I would challenge myself to do something just for me everyday. Every, single day!
I want you awesome superwomen to do the same. Now I know that affordability is a major concern. It is for me too, as I am focused on our debt repayment plan. So I thought long and hard about ways that I could give myself a daily self-care moment without breaking the bank. I’ve dubbed this the #SelfCareForAllMamas Challenge. For the next 30 days, I want us to make a promise to ourselves that we will take 30 minutes a day to love ourselves. You don’t have to leave the house if you choose not to, and for most of these you won’t even have to spend a dime.
Take a look at these 10 Affordable Ways to Love Yourself Through Self-care:
1. Ditch the shower for a bath
