Adoption Makes 7: What a Difference a Year Makes

My oh my, how 1 year can change things! In one year our family has grown by 1. That’s right! Now we are a tribe of seven. We welcomed a beautiful newborn baby girl into our home nearly a year ago and she’s just about ready to celebrate her 1st birthday. Once again the blessing of adoption has been bestowed upon my family. She is the apple of everyone’s eye and simply a joy to have in our lives.

Little mama is only the 1st of the major changes in our life. Do you remember our farm house? Read about it here www.farlem.com. Well… we’ve sold it. Yes, yes! It was a hard decision for us as we truly loved that home, but the gypsy spirit of my love and I was pulling us in too many directions. We’ve taken an extended road trip across the U.S. and when we settle again it will be for good. Given the size of our family and our draw to urban life, coupled with our dreams of one day growing our own food and raising a few farm animals, we’ll probably end up right back where we started this fabulous family. The lush green suburbs of Atlanta, GA!

In the meantime, I’m enjoying this ride. Hubby and I are enjoying our current destination on the West Coast, and the older children are all gaining real life exposure and experience that is irreplaceable. My baby boy is an energetic 2 year old and my sweet gum drop is the most precious baby girl ever!
I look forward to having you along for the ride.

Shine on…

The life and times of one Black mama who conquered the world through adoption. This is my story.
